Offers & Asks

Mutual Aid Fun!

Basic Directions

Please use this space if you would like to Offer or Ask for something before or during the wedding weekend! Definitely not required! Just for fun! Just to be weird! And also for important things!

Have something to Offer or Ask for? Fill out a row in the Offers table if you are interested in providing something or a row in the Asks Table if you need something - be as detailed as you'd like! If you think your idea is "too" anything, you are incorrect.

See an Offer or an Ask you'd like to take someone up on? Contact them! Did it work out? Change the Offer or Ask Status (the first column) to "Closed". (Don't delete them. We'll know if you did, we see ALL.)

For Google Sheet Newbies

  • PHONE: THIS IS JUST NOT GONNA WORK ON YOUR PHONE WELL. Grieve it, then accept it as we too had to do. But you can look at what's there by clicking on the sheets below.

  • DESKTOP: You can only view the sheets on this page. To modify the sheets, use the link above.

  • EDITING: You do not need to click "save" after entering something. Your changes are automatically saved as you change the document.

Status Breakdown

  • "Open": No one has taken this person up on this Offer/Ask yet or it is an open-ended Offer/Ask.

  • "Pending": Someone reached out and there's a good chance this Offer/Ask is going to be taken soon.

  • "Closed": This Offer/Ask is no longer available/someone has taken me up on this offer/met this request.

  • "Offering to be Scheduled": We are planning to schedule some peer-led activities over the weekend. The difference between "Offering to be Scheduled" and "Open" is that these would be for all guests (or more than 3-5ish guests, we could create a sign-up) and we would add it to the "Schedule" tab on this website. For example, someone might offer to be scheduled to lead a 30-minute hike on Saturday morning for whoever wants to come or someone wants to play music during Friday night's casual dinner. Do you have an idea for an activity you would be interested in leading? Add it! (Sharing an idea does not bind you to doing it, it only binds you to talking about it with us and seeing if/how we can fit it in! We won't do the blood contracts until later this summer.) In an ideal world, we would like to have all ideas of this size in for discussion/consideration by July 15th.

"I feel the desire to offer something but I need even more examples!!"

  • Leading a group in something they can already do: free form collage/journaling/puzzle/etc.

  • Leading a game: tag/Cards Against Humanity/Cornhole/Two Truths and a Lie/Werewolf/etc.

  • Providing a service: doing people's hair before the wedding/providing massages/face painting/mediating a relational conflict/providing only Chris and Ruby with a massage while doing their hair, mediating their conflicts, and painting their faces/etc.

  • Providing equipment/items/ideas: bagels for Saturday morning/speakers or a microphone for music and announcements/flowers/weird decorations/costumes/toys/an idea you don't want to run with but someone could/etc.

  • Performing something: karaoke/a song/poem/scary story around the campfire/a special talent/ok, that's enough examples.
