A sense of humor (doesn't have to be a good one)
3 pickles
That special thing we lent you in 2012
An open mind (as if that wasn't obvious by now)
Weird costumes and masks etc for hanging out and our DIY photobooth!
Weird decorations to have about!
Coloring Supplies if you like coloring.
Craft materials for spontaneous activities!
Any instruments you play! Jamming will not only be allowed but encouraged.
Board games and/or outdoor games.
There is no indoor space for all 60 of us to gather in so we will be outside most of the time - this means you might want to bring your lucky bug spray, sunscreen, a fun blanket, your old camping chair, your fancy floppy hat...What am I missing?
There are cash-only things around the area...maybe you'll need it? There will be no need for it if following our schedule unless you feel moved to tip a staff member who is making your life good - specifically the bartender(s) if you decide to drink and the cleaning staff if you're staying onsite.
If you are bringing a very small child, please remember the resort doesn't have high chairs - if you need one and can't bring it with you, let us know and we'll work something out!
Are you into fishing? It's allowed in the stream so remember your pole and be sure to get a PA fishing license.
There are no TVs in the cabins! We are looking forward to unplugging but if that's not your thing, remember to bring a laptop or something else to view things on!
We are recommending colorful whimsical semi-formal (or formal attire if you want!) that makes you feel weird & comfortable. Chris and Ruby will be wearing fancy clothes (big dress and a suit (not a tux)) but with a colorful twist.
We would also really love it if you brought some weird pajamas for nighttime shenanigans.
The entire ceremony through dancing will definitely be outside. This means it's going to rain, so bring your umbrella! (jk jk....)
In the Poconos in September, there is an average high of 70 and an average low of 51. You might want to bring a sweater or two! It might also be hot! There is a stream so you might want to bring a swimsuit.
If you are staying in a smaller cabin or suite you will have a mini-fridge and a microwave. The larger cabins have full kitchens. There are also many grills onsite. If your cabin doesn't have a grill or an oven or a full-sized fridge and you need to use one, let us know!
You are on your own for any unscheduled meals which is basically Saturday lunch and snack times. Sunday brunch is at 11am which may also be a little late for some folks. It might be a good idea to bring a few grocery and snack items to have on hand! Items to grill could also be fun. (BTW We currently know that there needs to be a vegan, gluten-free, shellfish-free, and peanut-free option. Did we miss yours? Let us know!)
We are not allowed to have alcohol at the meal tables without it being served by Magnolia staff, but outside of staffed activities (which is Friday from 6pm-8pm, Saturday from 4pm-10pm, and Sunday from 11am to 1pm) we can do what we like!
Friday: The pizza oven meal will include beer and wine. Also, feel free to have your own happy hours with your own stash in your cabin beforehand! After dinner, we will have a little beer and wine available as we hang. Feel free to bring your own.
Saturday: There will be a bartender with 2 signature drinks, beer, and wine for happy hour through dancing. If you would like something different feel free to take breaks to get weird in your cabin! You could also let us know and we could get it to the bartender (note this has to be done in one drop the week before). After 10pm we can do what we want and the unopened beer and wine will be released to us.
Note that in PA you can't buy beer and wine & spirits in the same place. There is a Food Wine and Spirits VERY close (3 min drive) at 1152 PA-390, Cresco, PA 18326. And there is a beer distributor, Mount Pocono Beverage, 15min drive away at 1152 PA-390, Cresco, PA 18326. Oftentimes in PA you can also buy beer (usually 6 packs) to go late at night from bars.
